He does realize that even if the God of Spinoza exists there's absolutely no pint in arguing about it other than making religious people happy and granting them the opportunity to abuse others who may not try to understand the details of the argument for themselves, right?

The universe is evidence of God. Neil studies the universe and comes to the conclusion that it came from nothing? Where is the scientific logic in that? If you have a car, someone built it. If you have a skyscraper, someone built it. If you have a UNIVERSE someone created it...GOD. Stop denying the truth. The bible says Gods invisible qualities are made known by what we can visibly see. There is no excuse for denying God. (Romans 1:20)

I believe that god evolved from a single consciousness before time existed and once there was a consciousness of time is when everything had to the exist in time (time/space) big bang. So everything that existed in time started before the consciousness of time (single cell organisms)

The Story of Job in the Bible explains a lot about God , for God answers Job and the answer is very important- Positive negative, up down, in out, on off, left right, good bad, life death, light darkness, happy sad, bad good, strong weak, brave fear, health suffering, beautiful calm days -storms, flood drought, cloudy clear, peace war, those who love life love God and those who love death hate God, walking with God can move mountains and walking away from God can cause self destruction. Job's trials and tribulations changed him from walking away from God to walking with God. Leviathan description is a dragon from deep in the ocean that tramples down pride(are dragons fairy tails?)?.
                      - Psalm 1
                      1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
                      whatever they do prospers.

                      4 Not so the wicked!
                      They are like chaff
                      that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Conclusion: Nations that walk with God in truth, and the golden rule walk away from destruction and nations that walk away from God in lies, sin, wickedness and evil walk into destruction.

Eyes to see and ears to hear. "If any man would come unto God, he must first believe."

"No man understands scripture without the Holy Spirit."

I used to wonder about the things that seemed wrong in the Bible. With a little more study, I have always discovered that my understanding was wrong, not the Bible. If you are interested, the validity of the Bible as the word of God is easily proven beyond what any scientist would call proof. Just YouTube search for Dr Chuck Missler. Search through the hundreds of videos and find a subject you are interested in or believe is wrong. Get a little education from a real scientist and engineer.

Another thing, search for and see if you can find any biochemist that believes that life came about by any description or form of accident. These people actually deal with a complexity of life. They are not fooled by the "It must have happened this way, because, here we are" argument.

God ideation is generated by a pool on neurons in the right temporal lobe of humans. This area is involved in religiosity. A tool used by some humans to manipulate others into social order. However if professing belief gives you an advantage, use it.

Interesting. Michio doesn't hold a belief in a personal god. He's agnostic about the existence of am impersonal one however. So he's an atheist.

Neil seems to only be talking about a personal god. Specifically the Abrahamic God. He believes it's impossible for that god to exist. So he and Michio have the same idea. So Neil is an atheist. He however never talks of what he thinks of an impersonal god. But my guess is he'll hold an agnostic position on that.

Childbirth is painful because your body and vagina contracts enough to push out a mass the size of a football. Throw the Bible away. In fact, burn it.

There is no miracles only unexplained science. We are separated from God, by our own free will. When the sumani hit in 2004 in thailand it destroyed whole villages. Hotels chains then came in and built hotels. They say another one is coming. If the people die will that be Gods fault. On a island, isolated with simple people not one person died by the sumanui because they knew the signs.

Neil, I agree with you on most things!

However your thinking is not very objective on this one. There is another side. God lets us live a free life and allows us to make decisions. He would be controlling if he put his hand in everything! How would you feel if you had your parents control you all the time. It would not feel good.
It’s best to be rational on God and say that you can’t rule him out nor rule him in.

If it's the father of Jesus or Mohammed's Allah then God doesn't exist & is a man made thing or he's shy and hide behind clouds & tortures & kills everything ! The Bible claims that God is powerful and yet 1000 children starve to death everyday? You claim to understand the Bible but I don't think that you do. The Bible supports the denigration of women, the killing of babies and little children, the abuse of slaves etc. I can show you passages from the bible where God commands his people to kill babies. The Bible supports slavery and gives instructions on how slaves should behave. The Bible makes sense ONLY to those who are brainwashed.

The smallest detectable fundamental particles that make up Neutrinos that existed before the big bang, referred to as “light Neutrinos” have 168-169 micro-electron-volts or (μeV). This is factoring in an uncertainty of ±2 μeV. This data set is from experiments at the Princeton Tritium Observatory for Light. And data from the Planck satellite. These “light neutrinos” are part of the radiation field that existed before the red hot big bang. Now, Neutrinos that are observed and measured today, in the Hadron Collider for example, have billions of time more energy. We know from elementary particle physics that relies on conservation laws and E = mc2 that lower energy particles can’t transform into the mass of higher-energy particles without a Higher Power to fuse the transformation. Thus, the smallest detectable fundamental particles that make up Neutrinos required a "Higher Power" above and beyond the universe to be created.

I believe in dog reversing god, because the dog will be there for me unconditionally. My dog is love, fair, just and true friend.
