On the one hand, it's a well made very straightforward doc but it concentrates far too much on the bonkers religious affiliations of the teams members. The thing they don't realize with their nonsense religious mumbojumbo, is that they overlook the contradictions and like all religions, modify their interpretations of the 2000 year old scribbles of men with temporal lobe epilepsy (slight exaggeration but generally true). For instance in one meeting their 'leader' asks his audience for a show of hands of 'those that hate casinos'. And he actually uses the word 'hate'. I'm sure Jesus loved that one...
Anyway, beside their religious bollocks it's nice to see some real insights into a working BJ team, so I just bite my lip at some of the crap they spout and move on. Certainly for any serious BJ player it's worth watching...

The rule against hatred only applies to other people. It doesn't apply to inanimate objects or sins people commit. Do you think we are sinning by hating rape? Why do you lump up all religions in the same category without doing any real research of your own? Card counting is a moral gray area that is not specifically covered in the Bible. What's most important is spiritual priorities. Some people can count cards without resorting to sin: others cannot. In the end, card counting is ultimately between the card counter and God. God is the final judge: not any one mortal man.

The contradiction is obvious here but your fedora tipping is just as bad, we're all sinners in the end...

Are you kidding me? They hardly spoke anything of deep theological conversation and gave plenty of blackjack footage, plus the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you're the kind of person who is triggered by anything slightly religious in general, you have issues. Most people will never fully agree with you on every last detail of any worldview you embrace.

The math they were using made no sense to me.  The decks that casinos use have way more than 52 cards in them, and so there is no way of knowing the probability of how many aces versus 9's there are, for the casinos most likely skew the probabilities by taking out the 9's and throwing in more 5's, or deliberately taking a bunch of cards and discarding them from their 300+ deck of cards.  So, you cannot count the cards.  BUT notice that when they were winning, casino managers would come up to them and say, "LEAVE NOW" rather than say to each other, "Make sure they do not leave until they have lost what they have made".  So, I guess "the system" they had was to have friends on the inside who would tell them "You've had enough - quit while you're ahead", versus others in the casino who did not have friends watching over them.  This movie was very cynical, and conspiratorial in nature.  Well, you know, nobody likes the person who is sitting at a poker table, who is cheating - that is, "un-American".  But, I guess that is the real point of this film, how the SYSTEM, rather than the odds, are set up to favour "the Clan".... Organized Crime, you see?.... Flip a coin.... sure, you will have "streaks" where you come up "heads" many times in a row, but over time : half the time you will have heads, while the other half of the time you will have tails.... Their system was to have people working in the casino to tell them to leave when they were ahead.

Kelly, you are confused because blackjack is a mathematically complicated game. Wizard of Odds is an excellent source for looking up blackjack strategy and practicing the game at home with software that automatically tells you if you are making a playing mistake. I'd give you a full blown explanation of card counting, but it would go right over your head. Card counting works, but you can't learn it overnight.

With the greatest respect you're talking twaddle. If a casino was caught manipulating the composition of their shoes their license would be revoked immediately and they would be in federal court on major charges. Card counting works whether you're dealing from one deck or from a shoe of 8 decks. The more decks you have, the more rarely you have good opportunities to bet but they're there nevertheless. And the longer you play, the more likely the theoretic edge will be reached.

The major problem I have with this is that the Bible teach that you do not gamble away your earnings. All of the people in this documentary falsely claim that they believe God is accepting of their behavior. Why? Because they have not been struck down? Every "Pastor" doing this is misled by others and his own thoughts because he is not reading and following Gods' word.

The other problem is that these men are leading people astray who are looking to truly follow Jesus. The Bible also tells that they are responsible for leading souls to Him. They are in danger of Hell if they mislead people.

This is another reason people think Christians are hypocrites. They are right about people like this. True followers of Christ know better.

May God open your eyes soon.

Gambling is not specifically addressed, but the LOVE of money is. For every one Christian whose spiritual life is not hindered/advanced by gambling, there are hundreds/thousands/millions who are negatively affected at least slightly. Some people who'd otherwise go to Heaven end up in Hell because of gambling. Therefore, I do not like to encourage card counting. There are far too many ways a potential card counter could fail financially and spiritually.

I was a pro punter playing the horses on the track I got fed up counting money all day long giving the bookmaker money collecting the winnings then the next race same thing every day for years over and over again.
Having to make sure there was no funny money.
People standing around knowing you have large amounts of cash on you.
Going to the tracks where in the uk they are miles and miles apart lots and lots of travelling day after day carrying wads of cash.
I used to be a blackjack dealer and would make sure I never shuffled the decks to hard trying to give the punter a chance 99% of players were hopeless.
Tracking the aces I thought was good through the shuffle I have not watched you clips so don't know if you teach this ?
              Good luck
