In China most big companies are government owned, in the USA most government is big company owned.

Boeing and the FAA have been incredibly stupid concerning the Max, the only reason I can think of why this happened is because both considered themselves above ordinary considerations and a law unto themselves. They have opened the door for China and helped Airbus at the same time, unbelievable.

It's going to start off unreliable and cheap. Then after a few years it will be more reliable, possibly even more reliable than the competition, and cheaper still. You see the Chinese are moving on into robotic manufacturing. That will make it cheap, but like everything else they manufacture, it has taken a few years to get the products right, as it does for anyone developing a product, but the difference is the Chinese improve faster. Everything happens faster in China. They can build a whole city faster than it takes to build a nuclear reactor back in Blighty. lol

The fixes for the max are being held back like what happened to NASSA . Yes they need to be fixed properly but give China the opportunity they will lose the initiative and the market.

The trade war is long term is going to hurt the US. China is going to develop and produce their own product rather then buy from the US and eventually become a competitor in many industries. This shows why Trump is a awful businessman same out come (long term) with wanting to cut payroll tax and telling the fed to set the interest rate.
Trump will be like Caligula in the history books the leader that was at the beginning of the end to this great empire

Even according to the CIA's World Factbook, *there* *is* *no* *country* *named* *America* . Also as per usual, I am disliking this video and will continue to do so until you decide to rejoin the true American family and stop insulting your neighbours.

China has previous bad taste with the failed Trunkliner program assembling McDonnell Douglas aircraft in China. Prior to computer aided design, the drawings did not describe the necessary hand fitting of parts all over the aircraft, and nothing fit.

"...By 2036, China is projected to be the No. 1 or No. 2 market in commercial aviation, a sector long dominated by Airbus and Boeing..."

Then to that quote I wrote this response:

It is laughably unrealistic to assume (or; to try to achieve a situation where) the largest or 2nd largest market of a global manufacturing state; in a particular product; will be an import item for that global manufacturing state.

This is especially true of a centrally planned and managed political economy like that of the PRC. Each percent (or fraction thereof) of real growth in Chinese middle-class incomes; and, in the total number of Chinese middle class households, expands the requirement for available commercial aircraft seat-mile capacity.

This increase in demand cannot be met, by other than domestic aircraft and engine manufactures; domestic air carrier operations, and domestic maintenance, repair, and overhaul, of aircraft, engines, and component subsystems. The domestic (Chinese) jobs created upstream and downstream of that (Chinese) commercial aircraft seat, cannot be given away for foreign manufacture, repairs, or services. The technical know-how required is precisely what the investment of the PRC government into higher education and technical-school education is suppose to be for.
And given the size of the requirement described in the video; it is simply impossible for China (or any other nation for that matter) to produce the goods and services to export; which, will provide the foreign exchange earnings, that are needed to buy all those aircraft, and their support. Whether it be from Boeing, Airbus, or any other foreign manufacturer.

Simply put, a Chinese middle class of 900+ million people (in say 2025) will not be buying middle class goods and services (like commercial domestic and international air travel, along with the aircraft, and their maintenance) as imports. The expectations of both Boeing and Airbus, that China will continue along those lines is unrealistic. The PRC is not South Africa, Egypt or Nigeria.

The Chinese market is simply too large, for the Chinese government to make the decision not to make it at home, vs. buy it from abroad.

                                                                        • Gh0st175

The Brazilian Congress is not sure that they will allow to take place. The deal has not been finalized yet. Boeing is seen outside the US as a typical US company.

I have ZERO confidence in the FAA. The number of cozy connections, the potential to get a job at Boeing when you leave the FAA, and anytime you "self certify" is a formula for disaster. I would NEVER set foot on a max. Its 1960's technology. It was created because Boeing was too cheap to invest in a new design. Proving once again what happens when you take short cuts -- Its ends up more expensive to do things cheaper

Knowing what was revealed later, which is a vital safety measure that was central to the validation of the 737MAX design by the FAA was later secretly removed from the basic configuration and added to a premium option in an attempt to leverage more money from clients, Boeing sales force and strategists will have to provide substantial compensations and proof of safety to all companies and regulation bodies in the world before they get any chance to sell future models, including the redesigned 737MAX. They have jeopardized thousands of lives, not just those people who died in the 2 crashes but also all those who might have in all other flights that were unsafe because of the silent software update that created the issue.
