Atkins have made good and bad moves....like every MLB FO.

Derek Fisher has been somewhat a surprise so far. It's just an odd trade

Now they've traded by favorite player and blew jays best player for nothing on waivers - Freddie Galvis - what a bunch of idiots.....

9 more outs and he could have thrown a no hitter in his first game as an astro (who also have Osuna, and a very meh biagini, ex jays).
Under sold as he was under valued, this one still stings.

Sanchez was part of a No - Hitter ! The one that got away ! Jays were saving money 💵! Letting go their Best Players ? Houston Astros treat their players with Respect ! The Whole Organization !

Shapiro and Atkins do what they do best, save teams money on salary. When you have an owner who is not interested in winning, this is a perfect storm for mediocrity.

Its obvious here these 2 clowns wanted to get rid of all the players they didnt draft or traded for that Alex brought to the Jays. These guys dont make sense they said they wanted prospects yet they trade Sanchez. Biogini, and a good PROSPECT for a 26 year old center fielder whos not a starter makes no sense. Stromen will be a star in New York and Sanchez will become the pitcher he once was now that hes healthy

Houston is one of the biggest markets there is, and they took HUGE steps back so they could take big steps forward over the long haul. Is it frustrating that the Jays aren't consistent contenders year-in and year-out like the Yankees and Cardinals? Of course it is. But don't act like that's how it was under AA. It took years before the Jays became contenders under his GMship and that was with an all-out blitzkrieg of trades in 2015 that ensured that the window was going to be small. Leaving a pack of moron fans calling for the Jays to re-sign Batista in the 2016-17 offseason even though all of the signs of regression were there (and so forth).

Not that this absolves Atkins & co. of criticism (for e.g. in that same offseason, they did the moronic Morales signing, letting EE go when he still had juice), but a lot of what I'm reading is "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?? WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT ALL OF OUR GOOD PLAYERS FOR THAT MAGICAL 2020 RUN THAT WOULD *SURELY* HAVE HAPPENED UNDER A COMPETENT GM!!!!!"

That 2020 run was not ever going to happen and wouldn't have happened under AA either (that doesn't mean that AA still wouldn't have been better to lead the team through the 20s and on but this team was always going to stink from 2018-20).

There is no reason why a big market team like the jays should not compete every single year. just so the sportnet rogers apologists know. I am a jays fan, and I have not gone to a game since 2016, and for the first time I have not watched a complete game all season. Used to do about 10 games a year and watch dozens on tv. . Definitely some realllllly questionable moves made. For one, you demand Deivi Garcia from the Yankees.....and then turn around and take 2 non top 100 pitching prospects from the Mets, both of which are only 45FV???? Honestly I dont see Kay doing much outside of AT BEST becoming an average backend starter and thats if he even makes it to the MLB as a starter, not reliever. And the 18 year old kid Woods, looks like he can be a good prospect and has a good deal of upside but still feels underwhelming. Both prospects are considered "high risk". I just dont get how you ask the Yankees for a 20 year old pitching in AAA that was just ranked 60th in the top 100 and then settle on those two? Yankees obviously were not going to give up Garcia since thatd be a huge overpay but it seems like the Jays basically told them it was starting with Garcia other wise "were not picking up the phone" type thing. Because the Yankees have A TON of good mid tier pitching prospects, there was certainly a number of pitchers that were better than the prospects they got from the Mets that Cashman would have been open to trading for Stroman if the original asking price was Garcia...2 non top 100 pitchers is an underpay. And Sanchez undoubtedly sold way too low on, ive always been high on his talent just needs to fix his blister problem. I think the Astros turn him into a great pitcher again, hes exactly the type of guy I think would work extremely well in their system.
