Yeah, and that's a bummer too! I really like these tires. Ever ride Hookworms? Another great tire for this kind of riding.

I have these and actually for an all terrain tire they really shine! Granted i dun do advanced trails but for road, light trails, etc i really can't say i've ridden a better tire!

Hey man, I'm trying to make my bike ideal for wheelies and street riding but I'm on a budget so do you have cheaper alternatives? ( 27.5inch tires)

I’m not sure man. For street I’ve always used these or hook worms. I know they’re not cheap but they work great!

You didn't really say what's size rims you are running are you running 26 27 and a half or 29

I almost bought a set of Holy Rollers for my mongoose XR Pro but I went with the Max's hookworm now these are 2.5 and I think I've got like a 1/8 clearance maybe even less but what I like to know is are these tires made with Kevlar and do they hum when you ride the bike because the hookworms grab the road is sort of sticky and sometimes they roll good sometimes they don't and yes I've got mine pumped up to 42 LB 2 50 lb

@Reg Guy: I choose to go with the Vittoria Goma foldable 26" 2.25 tire. I live in the So Cal Mojave Dessert area where the terrain isn't very rocky but my trip on an asphalt road is 7 miles to my local riding trail. I hope that these will hold up for me. Thanks again and safe riding.

                • Doug DeGrave
                  Doug DeGrave  2 years back

Bought a pair about two years ago, I ride nearly every day, thrashing around on the streets and cruising dirt jumps. In that time I've been through 3 different bikes but kept the same set of tires. The tread was starting to look worn down but they worked just fine on the jumps but yesterday the sidewall on the back tire got a hernia and the tube popped out. When I tried to lower the pressure the tube popped. So now that I'm looking around for new tires, I realize there ain't much out there to choose from. I would really like to shed some rotational weight as the Holy rollers are on the heavy side. In the interim I have a kenda 2.35 small block 8 up front and a 2.3 k-rad in the back. Both are brand new. And I hate them. They are just as heavy but have none of the confidence inspiring grip that the 'rollers had.. Think I'm gonna go with a 2.4 'roller for the front and try a DTH 2.3 for the back. If I don't like it I'll just put the old but still working HR back on. Holy Rollers are the best.

Regular Guy Mountain Biking nope. Never tried hookworms. I was riding 20" bmx up til I got my first 26 dj bike 2 years ago and put those holy rollers on it. I ordered the maxxis DTH with a new HRoller last night , should arrive tomorrow!

Wow dude you got some life out of those tires! The only other tires I've used and liked are hook worms. Have you tried them?

Can I have a question, please: Are the tires 2,40 wide? How high is the entire wheel with an inflated tire? Thanks a lot for your kind reply. Petr.

whoa i run 45/55 front/rear and they are already awesome on roads/pavements but i can see a bigger/heavier rider preferring higher pressures i guess?

I pump up mine to 65 psi... I am kinda afraid that I might crack the rim, as I did many times with tubeless. Also I like how drifty and responsive to steering the bike becomes...

Wow really! That's pretty darn high man. Is it the faster rolling speed you get out of that pressure that you like so much?

I really like how this build is coming out, Gene! Really cool, man.

These are, like you show and mention in the video, the Holy Rollers, but your video is titled High Roller tires, which is another tire by Maxxis. If you have the chance, I'd recommend that you correct that title ;)

                    Cheers, Gene!

I like those, they are similar to Kenda K-RAD tires. I like the Duro BermMasters!! The sidewall is a little stronger, which is awesome for berms and the tread is a little bit more aggressive. Other then that they are pretty much the same. Great video though!!! Live-Life-Loud!!

I love Maxxis too. My son's name is "Maxxus". Funny I had decided on naming him "Maximus", but then one day while cleaning my bike I was rubbing down my tires and I was staring right at the name on the sidewall and then the proverbial light bulb switched on 💡
