  • "Mother Love Bone" was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1988. The band was active from 1988 to 1990. Frontman Andrew Wood's personality and compositions helped to catapult the group to the top of the burgeoning late 1980s/early 1990s Seattle music scene. Wood died only days before the scheduled release of the band's debut album, Apple, thus ending the group's hopes of success. The album was finally released a few months later. Although Mother Love Bone is to this day remembered by many as a very talented band in its own right, its legacy, for some, is overshadowed by Wood's death and the bands that its former members would later form.

@moe17moe I agree, stone an amazing guitar player and Jeff Amment the whole of MLB, mostly Pj now, TALENTED! But Andrew DID play as well, while he was a natural frontman and lyricist he did sit with stone and write melodies so it goes to say who really knows how much influence Andrew had on Stones riffs? But I cannot deny Stone's playing incredible!

@Emarie BWood was a charismatic singer. , interesting lyrics. But the music came from all of the member from MLB, incl. Jeff and Stone, and Stone wrote the music for Even flow, it's his rif.

Are you KIDDING ME!! MOST OF PJ'S MELODIES CAME FROM ANDREW WOOD! ALL BUT EDDIE VEDDER WAS FROM MOTHER LOVE BONE! SO IT'S PLAIN TO SEE...
IF SWEET ANDREW, LOVINGLY REFERRED TO BY HIMSELF AND OTHERS AS LEANDREW FROM OLYMPUS ( HEAVEN)😇 DIDN'T LEAVE US HEARTBROKEN AND FLY THERE AT THE AGE OF 24😭 I DOUBT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A PJ! SORRY, BUT IT'S TRUTH! RIP "MAN OF GOLDEN WORDS" ANDREW WOOD 🤩😇 EXTRAORDINARY!!!

hypothetical situation...Andy lives. Mother Love Bone breaks instead of Nirvana. Instead of everyone being mopey and depressed they would be shaking their ass and happy...love rock.

They wouldn't have broken the same way. It would've been MLB instead of Pearl Jam, not Nirvana. Grunge would've still happened. People no doubt would still have OD'd. Wood's closest friends (AIC, Soundgarden, etc.) didn't just play the way they did because of Nirvana, so I think that would have been largely unchanged.

The only real difference to what you're suggesting is no Nirvana or Pearl Jam. Otherwise, things would have been almost identical.

                                ...

                                ....

I still like this scenario a lot.
