Is it only me feeling all of them are acting like they lost something important , my hair doesn’t define me even though people treat me wrong. We don’t need to spend that much money. We need to learn the difference b/n our needs &wants. The amount of money that they are spending is not a must, just to be accepted by people.😌

WOW!! From $40k On Wigs To $20k On Natural Hair Products?? and to think in all these years that have come and gone, all it took was something as SIMPLE as just  "BEING YOU" , gain an $20k increase *>>BACK INTO YOUR POCKET!!<<*  LOL!!    That's like an extra 20k towards College!,  Starting a Business, investment in the Stock market, a Home,  a Car and much more! ..But here's the kicker!  ..This opportunity been there ALL ALONG!  LOL!!   Albeit HIDDEN behind being Social-Engineered to seek White Approvals at the expense of one's self!

For example, where one interviewee stated >>  *"I want people to know that Black Hair SHOULD BE acceptable....etc"* … Like Really?  and to WHOM was this statement directed towards!  OR, for that matter, ever notice that in practically ALL of these KINDS of remarks, Comments and Statements, there yet a fundamental POINT being Made?  ….well lemme'help'ya!  they're ALL speaking to  *"WHITE PEOPLE!!"*

Think about it!   What other reason why a Black Person would seek to HIDE {or exhibit a social complex towards}  Their OWN Ethnic Attributes??!!   >>> Simple!  >> so as to avert being racially scorned/mocked/harassed by Racist Whites!  and/or of those who'd embrace Racist White ideologies so as to escape being just as targeted!

Other than this, BLACK PEOPLE have absolutely NO OTHER REASON to want to disown their OWN IMAGE!

Such Social torment comes from trying to live within a sense of "Normalcy" under the colonial rule of another race!

And therefore the *"Stockholm Syndrome"* becomes the means of surviving under such rule!

Whereas, Black People seeking whatever means to HIDE their Own Ethnic Attributes so as to gain a sense of acceptance *{They'd like to believe/assume}*  from White People, is a form of the *"Stockholm Syndrome"*

However, if BLACK PEOPLE were just as dedicated,  *"in their collective efforts"* towards Building their OWN BLACK system of Government/Infrastructure,  then NONE of these social issues {Rooted in and by the effects of White Supremacy} would BE an issue!  ..In fact, it would be totally trivialized!   So much so that it may even be an embarrassment, with just thinking about how Blacks were so Socially/Psychologically subdued by it at all!

The only reason I was spending so much on my hair is I went natural and was obsessed with not making it look natural. So I wanted my hair to have all this definition and do things it wasn't meant to do. Once I stopped feeling the pressure to conform to what society says my hair should look like and embrace my kinky tresses, I've found that I don't need as much product at all. Most of them work the same anyway. I spend about 70% less than I did when I first went natural.

Idk if im the most low maintenance natural hair girl in the world... or they just chose the most dramatic people for the video, beacause 3/8 hours for a wash day seems like alot

My trick to not spending buckets of money on hair care products was to stop allowing Natural Hair Gurus to influence me into buying unnecessary products. Yeah there reviews can be handy, but a lot of the products I've bought because they are popular or because some natural hair girl online recommends it i have to give away because it just doesn't work for me. Maybe i was just an idiot and had to learn the hard way lol

The first line of this video is all I’m thinking about. Yet we get the least amount of pay. This doesn’t even count all the other shit we gotta do like nails, skincare etc. This triggers the most out of me. Yet black hair care providers still are charging $15 for a deep conditioner. Wtf

Idk I think there are other things that are more important than keeping up your hair for hoursss. I know we’ve been outed by society for our beautiful hair, but there are far more important things to invest money and time on. It’s kind of silly to spend so much money, especially already being at a disadvantage from birth.

There's a lot of pressure to fit societal norms because people treat you differently when your hair is styled different ways. It can result in missed opportunities in the workplace or losing out on a job altogether. I put on makeup to go shopping because I'm less likely to be followed around the store by security and sales associates. Sometimes it's not as easy as "Be Yourself". It's hard out here 😭!

I really agree that the problems is not that we a buying products, I also think that the black community is being taken advantage of by non-black sellers. It's like Friends the sitcom was a piggy back off of Living Single. I don't hate our other counter parts I just think that we need to be respected. We do have power. I also hate too when black entrepreneurs try to take the price now to the extreme and say oh it's because we don't have the support. Balance. I do not like my buying power exploited no matter the race.
